6’5 PF Robert Whaley of Bountiful High School
Boi Boi was a beast at The Tarkanian Classic in Las Vegas as he lead his team to a 3-1 showing all while putting up 24 points a game in 4 games. Whaley is a load inside as he often times over powers defenders with his strength. Although Bountiful is 4-6 Whaley could be the difference in getting them over .500. They will face 4A Juan Diego next. Whaley is an interesting prospect that will play at the next level but the right program will need to fit his strengths.
6’5 Josh Jackson of Lone Peak High School
Josh had a consistent weekend at The Coach Walker Classic. He averaged 14 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assist in three games. Josh has shown for multiple years that he can get it done on both ends of the court for many years now as he enters his 4th year playing varsity for basketball power Lone Peak.
6’4 SF/W Samuel Mitchell of Payson High School
Sam has been on a tear as of late. His hot start began on Day 1 when he gave Wasatch Academy 21 and he continues it by giving Juan Diego 25. He was one of the top performers in The Coach Walker Classic. He’s got strength and athletic ability as he has been dunking vertical while under the basket. He has also been working on his outside shot as well. He is one of those sleeper prospects to keep an eye on in The 2021 Class.
6’7 F/C Fousseyni Traore of Wasacth Academy
When you can hold your own against the best in the country people notice. While in Honolulu, Hawaii. Traore was able to hold his own against the likes of Oak Hill Academy. The Class of 2021 big man is someone D1 scouts will be all over. Wasatch Academy should go undefeated in-state the rest of the way. Making the trip to Mount Pleasant, UT is a must to see the amount of Division 1 talent on one roster.
6’5 Micah Ashman of Jordan High School
Micah has been outstading for the Beetdiggers. His last two games at The Tarkanian Classic he put up 20 and 25. Look for Micah to build on these solid performances as they head back to Utah to take on Murray and Skyline.
5’10 Gavin Hardy of Salem Hills High School
Gavin is another underrated guard that can handle the basketball and shoot at a high percentage. He averages almost 4 three-pointers a game. He averaged about 19 points per game and 4 rebounds. He is most effective when he rebounds the ball and pushes the tempo.
6’4 SG Duncan Reid of Skyridge High School
Duncan was in his bag this weekend. He been averaging 23 points per game in the last 4 games played. Duncan is a Division 1 guard that has a great motor with and without the basketball. The way Duncan can set his man up against different screens is impressive.
