Recruiting Report: Jaden House (2021)
Jaden House, a class of 2021 guard from Middleburg Academy, was one of the top performers from the Morgan Wootten Tip-Off Showcase over the weekend. The explosive 6-foot-4 guard didn’t get off to an ideal start, scoring just three points in the first half, but erupted for 25 of his game-high 28 points in the second half.
“At halftime, my coaches told me I wasn’t being myself,” House told Prep Hoops. “They told me to go out there in the second half and show what I can do, so that’s what I did.”
House demonstrated the ability to score from all three levels. He also showcased his tenacity on the defensive end where he picked up opposing ball handlers full court. House showed that he can get others involved as well, handing out six assists.
“I think my ability to handle the ball and get the players involved are underrated,” House explained. “I still need to work on making the right reads, things like that. It’s not terrible, but obviously it’s something I need to improve when college comes around.”
Howard and Old Dominion are two schools currently standing out the most in House’s recruitment, but also has offers from James Madison, Mount St. Mary’s and Stetson. Clemson is the first high major program to express interest, and probably won’t be the last to inquire as we expect to see an uptick in his recruitment in the near future.
What can he bring to a college program?
“A dog, period. Someone that’s going to give 110%. Obviously the scoring part, but just a dog. No matter what it is, I’m going to give you 110%.”
Jaden House is currently ranked by Prep Hoops as a top-25 prospect in his class. To view the full ranking of Virginia’s 2021 class, click here.
