Recruiting Report: 2021 Guy Fauntleroy
This past Saturday at National Hoops Festival, 2021 Guy Fauntleroy kicked off the event with a win for Riverdale Baptist against Coolidge. The 6’0 junior guard took home MVP honors after the game as he finished with 19 points, including 11 from the free throw line. This was the first time I have seen Fauntleroy since he transferred to Riverdale.
“I think it is going to end up being a good move for me. The school is closer to my house and the school is good. I really like the staff and they are coaching me well.”
He continued to say that the season has started off well, “The first few weeks of the season has been pretty good. We have only lost one game so far and we won four. It has been a good start.”
Guy displayed a good skill set on both sides of the ball this past weekend and that is what he prides himself on.
“I like to think I can be a threat on both ends of the floor. I like to put a lot of pressure on the ball when I am on defense and then on offense I always try and get my teammates involved.”
Part of his game is to set up 2021 guard, Devon Savage, on offense and to help find ways for him to score. Savage also transferred to Riverdale during the offseason.
“We play off each other, we have been playing together since 8th grade so we know each other really well. I know he can shoot, I know his hot spots and I know his favorite spots on the floor.”
Schools have begun to take notice of the 2021 guard. One school that he mentioned he is hearing from on a daily basis is Dayton.
“We play off each other, we have been playing together since 8th grade so we know each other really well. I know he can shoot, I know his hot spots and I know his favorite spots on the floor.”
