Prep Hoops Kansas released its most recently updated 2020 class rankings this week and the updated list features several players who have been mainstays in the rankings, as well as several players who have moved up the list.
Here Prep Hoops takes a look at several guards who have raised their profile and moved into the Prep Hoops rankings for the first time.
69 Nick Swarts, 6’7, F, 2020, Blue Valley West
Swarts is a tall player with length and athleticism around the rim. Swarts is listed at 6’7 and sometimes seems even taller.He looks to defend at a high level and rebounds well and can put back misses and finish plays around the rim. He’s coming off a productive season for KC Silver, making the most of his size in transition and as a half court player who makes smart passes and sets strong screens.
87 Thornton Cole, 6’8, PF, 2020, Wichita Collegiate
Cole has great height and shows potential as a scoring threat inside. He as the ability to rebound on both sides of the ball and can take away passes and look to find his way to the basket and score. He can also get to the free-throw line and shows a good target as a scoring option off the ball.
90 Kelvin Curry, 6’3, F, 2020, Highland Park @KelvinRCurry
Curry spent the summer playing with the Kansas Hoggs 17U and his overall rebounding skills and put backs really stood out to us. An athletic G/F who can handle the ball and score in the paint. He can make plays on the wing as well and shows an aggressive nature on defense.
89 Beau Foster, 6’0, F, 2020, Dodge City
Known for his work on the football field, Foster is a hard working do-everything performer on the hardwood who does a little bit of everything well. he is a strong rebounder and looks to block shots and can score under the basket. The outworks his opponents and brings a physicality and athleticism to the floor which helps him and his teammates.
94 Amos Alford, 6’4, G/F, 2020, Wichita East
Alford is a confident player with the ball in his hands who can create for himself and those around him He runs hard and looks to beat players in one-on-one situations. He is a fluid player, one who could see time inside, along the perimeter as a slashing wing or as a ball handling option as a point. A guys who sees time inside and out.
