Prep Hoops Kansas released its most recently updated 2021 class rankings this week and the updated list features several players who have been mainstays in the rankings, as well as several players who have moved up the list.
Here Prep Hoops takes a look at several players who have raised their profile and moved into the Prep Hoops’ 2021 rankings.
12 — Antwaun Massey 6’8 F, 2021, Olathe East
Massey is a rising junior prospect with terrific size at 6’8, athleticism and an emerging skill set. Massey had a terrific summer and showed the ability to run the floor exceptionally well and finish above the rim with several emphatic slams. He keeps his eye on the ball and has terrific movement off the ball that really sets him apart.
16 — Zach Bloch, 6’1, G, 2021, Seabury
A surprise riser who rolled with KC RUN GMC, Bloch is among the state’s most underrated guards in the 2021 class. He has a terrific outside shooting ability and can handle the ball, create openings for his teammate and can get to the basket and finish. A crafty ball handler who can get to the basket well and is a surprising finisher in traffic.
17— Nate Barnhart, 6’9, PF/C, 2021, DeSoto
One of the top big men in the area,Barnhart has the potential to develop into a 3 and D big man. He can block shots, run the floor, and has a smooth 3-point shooting stroke for a big. He has a much improved all-around offensive game and has been looking to score quickly. He’s a quick player who has good instincts and can cover ground and make a play.
21 — Will Townsend, 6’7, F, 2021, Shawnee Mission East
An athletic big man who has improved his game in the off-season, Townsend has a good upside as a two-way player. He’s listed at 6’7 and can make plays and use his length and strength to his advantage down low and in transition. He is a strong rebounder and post defender and runs the floor well and can connect with his outside shooting.
24 — Miles Branch , 6’7, F, Seabury
Branch is a big, physical forward with good size at 6’7, 205-pounds who showed an ability to overpower opponents over the summer. He looks to post up on the block, or can also step out and face the basket and knock down long jumpers and connect from a distance. Branch runs the floor well and is good in transition as well.
