Here Prep Hoops takes a look at several players who have raised their profile and moved into the Prep Hoops’ 2021 rankings.
51 Payton Hanzlik, 6’4, G/F, 2021, Leavenworth
Hanzlik had a strong showing over the summer with Team KC as he look to rebound and capitalize on his size. He’s a good shooter from the wing spot and can handle the ball a little and makes good decisions and smart passes. Hanzlik showed improvement as a defender and can switch out and cover some on the block as well. A wing player to watch.
54 Caden Kickhaefer, 6’3, G/F, Salina Central
Kickhaefer has a smooth outside shooting stroke, likes to shoot from distance out of the corners and has a well-rounded skill set. Listed at 6’3, this wing option has the ability to handle the ball, move inside and make plays and capitalize on his length.
55 Owen Braxmeyer, 6’1, G, 2021, Manhattan
An active guard who looks to move quickly and score wherever he can. He is a strong player for his size and shows up on both sides of the floor, knocking down shots on offense and getting physical on defense. He can be a pest on defense and looks to come away with the ball and finish shots in transition.
56 Ben Fritz, 6’5, F, BVNW
A player who can see time inside and out. Fritz has good length and size and a soft touch around the basket and can clean up plays and score with a hand in his face from inside and a few feet around the basket. He focuses on the little things and has shown an unselfish game and a willingness to get others involved.
58 Parker Hill, 6’4, G, 2021, Blue Valley
He has a strong frame and good height and can operate in a variety of positions. He runs the floor well and looks to get involved and play an unselfish game. He can score for himself and keep the ball moving.
