Here Prep Hoops takes a look at several players who have raised their profile and moved into the Prep Hoops’ 2021 rankings.
59 Isiah Esquibel, 6’3, G, 2021, Topeka
A skilled player who runs the floor well and can make moves with and without the ball. He’s strong inside and has good speed and skills needed for perimeter play.
60 Nate Hawk, 6’6, F, 2021, Valley Falls
Hawk does well off the ball and can be a problem for teams who can’t match up with his height. He played well for Kansas Hoggs this summer and showed some flexibility and versatility on the block. He shows a lot of promise on the block and at 6’6, makes life difficult for opponents on both sides of the ball.
64 Cortland Hervey, 6’6, F, 2021, Bonner Springs
Also a football player, Hervey is an intelligent and well built forward who has good hands, vision and shows some athleticism around the basket. He adds a lot to the defensive side of the floor and is aggressive and looks to make plays and come away with the ball.
65 Parker Stone, 6’1, G, 2021, Perry-Lecompton
Stone can put the ball on the floor and get to the basket. He is a capable shooter from 3-point range and has good instinct in physical situations. He helped distribute the ball and looked to score and did so well for the Kansas Cagers over the summer.
66 Christian Williams, 6’0, G, 2021, Trinity
Williams is an interesting guard for Trinity who can handle the ball some and play off the ball as a scoring option. He’s a quick player and makes good reads and knows how to break down a defense. He can find his shot from a distance and looks to play aggressive and look for opportunities in the transition game.
