1. Jalen Myers, 6’7 SF, Bob Jones: The future is bright for this long and wiry prospect. His ability to play and guard multiple positions on the perimeter and inside makes him highly valuable. He has the ability to step out and make open threes but his money is made in the mid-range and in transition. He has a slick handle for a guy his size with the ability to beat defenders off the dribble on a consistent basis. His athletic ability makes him a constant threat to make somebody into a meme (this used to be called a poster lol). He looks to be trending in the direction of a prototypical 3 and D guy on the next levels.
2. Austin Harvell, 6’6 SF, East Limestone: His body is college-ready right now. He is a monster on the glass and dunks like he is mad at the rim. His improved perimeter game has boosted his college interest. He has a high motor and is always working hard every play he is on the court. Now don’t get it confused he is much more than a junkyard dog type of guy he has a very high skill level. He can shoot it from the outside, he can put the ball on the floor and get to where he needs on the court against pressure, and can score it very well in the mid-range. Look for some very big numbers as the season progresses for the senior wingman.
3. Jamel King, 6’6 SF, Paul Bryant: Definition of a knock-down shooter. His size and ability to shoot it with very deep range make him a major threat and legit Division 1 prospect. Over the travel ball season, he showed a much-needed ability to finish over defenders at the rim and also through contact. His length and athletic ability make him tough to score on when he sits in his stance and competes on the defensive end. He has an improved handle but his ability to stretch defenses is what makes him one of the top wing players in the state.
4. Tyler Lang, 6’6 SF, Leflore: Textbook is the word that comes to mind when Tyler steps on the floor. He has very good mechanics on his jump shot which allows him to be a very consistent shooter because he shoots it the same way every time. Don’t sleep he is a very deceptive athlete who has a good lift and a very good second jump. He is a long and rangy perimeter player who plays the game the right way. Hopefully this his senior season he will up his aggressiveness and show to his potential with his ceiling being so high.
5. Geraldo Lane, 6’4 WF, Columbia: A definite rising prospect in the class who has continued to improve year in and year out. He has good size for a perimeter player with the ability to guard multiple positions. He has tremendous athlete and you can see when he walks he has the stride of a high-riser. He has a good handle but needs to continue to improve in that area. He also needs to continue to improve his consistency as an outside shooter. His athleticism and pure want to make him a very good on-ball defender. Look for him help Columbia win meaningful games this in this his senior season.
