Prospect Upshot: Lancaster vs Dickinson
The Cypress-Fairbanks ISD held its annual event called the CyHoops Invitational. The title game takes place between two state-ranked schools according to the TABC in #7 Dickinson Gators a UIL 6A affiliate vs #1 Lancaster Tigers a UIL 5A affiliate. Here is my synopsis of the game and the prospects who stood out.
The Dickinson Gators jumped out early in this game anchored by the University of Houston signee Tramon Mark Tramon Mark 6'5" | SG Dickinson | 2020 State #76 Nation TX who was cooking with the good grease all tournament long. He was giving the Tigers fits to start the game and they didn’t have an answer for him. The dynamic duo of Lancaster was able to score the ball as well and cause issues for the Gators in the 2nd quarter of the game. The second half of the game was well balanced between the two as they traded buckets. Dickinson had the lead for the majority of the 4th quarter but the Tigers fought hard and found themselves pushing the game into overtime. In OT the Tigers of Lancaster just proved to be a little too much for the Gators and were crowned back to back champions of the CyHoops Invitational.

Tramon Mark Tramon Mark 6'5" | SG Dickinson | 2020 State #76 Nation TX 6’6 SG | Dickinson | Sr. PHTX200 [Houston]
Tramon tried to carry his team on his back as much as possible. It is a no brainer why he is a Top 5 prospect in the State of Texas. The UofH signee scored the ball on all levels of the floor. He pushed it out in transition quickly and diced through defenders with ease to get to his spots on the floor. He continues to increase his deep-ball range further back. He will be a problem down the road come playoffs time. Finished with 35 points and 5 rebounds. He shot 12/20 from the field, went 4/10 from deep, and netted 7/7 from the charity stripe.
Marcus Williams Marcus Williams 6'2" | SG Dickinson | 2020 State #410 Nation TX 6’2 CG | Dickinson | Sr. PHTX200 [Northern Colorado]
Marcus has been in a semi-shotting slump but still plays a big factor for his team. The Northern Colorado signee was very vocal on the floor and got his teammates involved in the game. Made some timely decisions that put them in a really solid position to compete and have a chance to win the game. Finished with 10 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists. He shot 4/14 from the field, went 1/9 from deep, and 1/2 from the foul line.
Jathan Caldwell 6’3 WG | Dickinson | Jr.
Jathan is a big football body guy who played really well for the Gators. He was able to move guys with his strength and gain an excellent position to crash the boards. He was always in the right places at the right times. Finished with 9 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. He shot 4/5 from the field and went 1/1 from the foul line.
Mike Miles Mike Miles 5'11" | PG Lancaster | 2020 State #161 Nation TX 6’3 PG | Lancaster | Sr. PHTX200 [TCU]
The Texas Christian University commit has been a bucket all season and throughout the CyHoops tournament. He made shots from mid-range and got to the rim. He got a lot of quality paint touches and played with a super high motor. He made his living at the foul line as he was hard to stop when attacking the rim. Finished with 22 points, had 5 assists, and grabbed 4 rebounds. He shot 5/16 from the field, went 0/3 from deep, and 12/15 from the foul line.
Wade Taylor Wade Taylor 6'0" | PG Lancaster | 2021 State #103 Nation TX IV 6’0 PG | Lancaster | Jr. PHTX100
Wade is one of the most exciting junior prospects to watch. He has NCAA D1 scholarships galore and continues to play excellent basketball. Big time motor guard that was hitting the floaters all game long. His deep ball wasn’t falling but his energy was contagious as it got his teammates going on the court as well. Finished with 21 points, grabbed 5 rebounds, and dished out 3 assists. He shot 8/32 from the field, shot 2/11 from behind the arc, and went 3/4 from the charity stripe.
Marco Foster Marco Foster 6'1" | SG Lancaster | 2020 State TX 6’1 SG | Lancaster | Sr. PHTX200
Marco is one of the best deep ball shooters in the senior class in the state of Texas. This game he didn’t hit it at his normal high rate from deep, but never the less him being a threat opened up the floor for the other two guards mentioned above. Finished with 9 points and brought down 4 rebounds. He shot 3/9 from the field and 3/8 from deep.
