Prospect Spotlight: Stanley Marsh (2021)
Stanley Marsh, a class of 2021 forward from Thurgood Marshall, has been one of the best finds of the season so far. The lanky 6-foot-3 forward held his own against a physical Rock Creek Christian team earlier this month.
“I wanted to play him one on one,” Marsh told Prep Hoops about his matchup with Rock Creek forward Zaakir Williamson. “We played help a little bit, but once I figured it out we stayed home and I was able to hold my own.”
Marsh is very versatile. He can stretch the floor a little bit, but can also get to the basket and finish with either hand. On the defensive end, he’s adept at blocking shots and taking charges.
“I’m working on being able to move my feet quicker so I can get in a better position to take charges,” he stated. “Also, instead of always going for the block I need to just go straight up.”
What are his goals?
“To get out there and get noticed by some college programs. And to win a championship with my team.”
Stanley Marsh is currently ranked by Prep Hoops as a top-115 prospect in his class. To view the full ranking of Maryland and DC’s 2021 class, click here.
