At the helm of a Hortonville squad that’s currently boasting an undefeated record, Warning is hunting down a conference championship. “Our goals as a team are to contend for an FVA title and take it game by game and then hopefully make a deep playoff run,” Warning said of the 2019-20 season.
To help reach that milestone, Warning must polish a few edges sooner rather than later. “I need to improve on everything, like always, but I would say finishing at the rim, especially through contact,” Warning stated. Currently, it’s a trait he hasn’t utilized much. The guard’s trade is shooter, as his three-point shot and crafty mid-range game, both falling at an absurdly accurate rate, combined for the larger portion of his scoring thus far. But at 6’1 with a solid build, Warning could naturally fill an attacking role in Hortonville’s backcourt.
While above-average scoring prowess certainly lures colleges, Warning also brings auxiliary traits to the table. His composure throughout the game is the most accented, and was especially prevalent following his demolition of a highly-touted Kaukauna team this past Tuesday.
In terms of recruitment, Ripon ultimately swung the hardest for Warning, nabbing him late this offseason. According to Warning, they valued and believed in his skillset more so than other division three and NAIA schools contacting him, which ultimately made them standout as a college destination.
Overall, the guard is a consistent, high-volume scorer from the perimeter. He’s leading Hortonville to conference relevance after they spent 2018 treading water, and with an early breakout game against Kaukauna under his belt, Warning enters conference play on trajectory to achieve personal and team goals.
