All these players are either juniors or sophomores, these players will sure have an impact and start to gain more attention as the season goes on. I believe these players will continue to shine and show off their skills as teams come back from break. A lot of the players below are on teams who have young rosters which will be fun to see how these teams and individuals grow.
Dylan Carter – Chatfield (Jr.)
Dylan leads a young Chatfield team with only two seniors on the roster, he is currently averaging: 13.6 PPG, 3.0 RPG, 1.4 APG. His 13.6 points per game leads the team, and he is currently shooting forty-four percent from behind the three point arc (23/52) so far this season. He has scored double figures in all but one game, with nineteen being his season high, hitting that mark twice now. Dylan has nice form on his jump shot and does a good job of moving without the ball, and is ready to shoot when he gets it. He is able to knock down shots well past the arc, stretching the defense.
Kyle Sandler – Regis (So.)
Regis is another young team with only three seniors on their roster and three underclassman, with two sophomores and one freshmen. Kyle is one of those sophomores that is seeing a lot of playing time and he had done a nice job so far. He is averaging: 9.8 PPG, 5.8 RPG, 1.6 APG in nine games this season, he has good size at 6’4 and is able to stretch the floor and knock down the long distance shot. He is currently shooting thirty-one percent from behind the arc (21/67). His 67 attempts leads the team so far this season, he also leads the team in rebounding at 5.8 a game and 52 total. He has scored double figures in six of the nine games this year, with 20 points being his season high so far against Albany Academy for Boys.
Cole Bowen – Rampart (Jr.)
Rampart has a junior dominate team with Cole leading the way for them this year. He is currently averaging: 12.3 PPG, 3.0 RPG, 3.0 APG, 3.5 SPG. Cole is a guard that does a little bit of everything to help his team win, he can stretch the floor and knock down the three, he is a good defender, and he is very effective inside the arc as well. He has scored double figures in six of the eight games, posting a season high so far of 21 against Vista Ridge, hitting three of five from behind the arc as well as shooting six of eleven from the foul-line. Cole plays the passing lane very well, with active hands and creates a lot of deflections and steals for himself leading to transition baskets for Rampart. He also has great vision, kicking the ball up to open teammates often.
Aidan Kuhl – Rocky Mountain (So.)
Aidan is one of two underclassman on the varsity roster for Rocky Mountain this year, and he is having a great sophomore season so far leading the team in scoring at 17.6 points per game. He has scored twenty or more points three times so far, with scoring a season high 27 against Rampart in a win earlier in the year. He leads the team in three point attempts, shooting thirty-one percent (17/54). The lefty has a quick release shot, and is able to hit contested shots over defenders, and has a great pull-up jumper game off the dribble creating space for himself. He gets to the rim well of the dribble and has great vision finding the open teammate when the help comes over. It will be fun to watch Aidan grow these next few years as I believe he will develop into a great player, he has all the tools.
Tyce Baldwin – Fossil Ridge (Jr.)
Fossil Ridge is another young team with only one senior on their roster this year. The rest includes sophomores and juniors, Tyce leads the way for the team in scoring at 14.9 points per game and is also second on the team in rebounding at4.9 RPG. He has good size at 6’4 and is able to stretch the floor, but he does the majority of his work from inside the arc and at the foul-line were he shoots seventy-five percent (27/36). He is shooting a team high seventy-one percent from two-point range (37/52). He had a strong game before entering the holiday break, scoring 21 points and grabbing seven rebounds in a 62-59 win over Windsor. His season high is 26 which came early in the season against Denver East, he has reached double figures in scoring in seven of the eight games so far.
Eddie Speller Jr. – Lewis-Palmer (Jr.)
The three leading scorers for Lewis-Palmer are juniors and a sophomore. Eddie leads the team in both points and rebounds at 12.9 PPG, 6.9 RPG. He has recorded double figures in scoring in all seven games this season, including two back to back double-doubles. He has good size at 6’5 and does all of his work from inside the three point arc, he is shooting fifty-six percent from two-point range and sixty-seven from the charity strip. He has ten block shots and four charges on the year, he effects the game on both ends of the court for Lewis-Palmer.
