Player of the Week Candidates: 11/24 — 11/30
The Wisconsin high school basketball season started this week with a handful of top tier games. The state’s stars shined bright during week one’s matchups.

Carter Gilmore — Arrowhead
Carter Gilmore showed why he is considered to be one of the best prospects in Wisconsin. In a victory over Milwaukee Madison, Gilmore dropped 29 points. Gilmore showed his versatility in a phenomenal performance. The forward is going to be a tough player to stop this season because he does so many different things well.
James Graham III — Nicolet
James Graham was the best player on the court in the week’s best game. In a 66-56 win over a very good Milwaukee Academy of Science squad, Graham led the Knights in points with 26.
He will be forced to shoulder a much bigger load this season due to the departures of Jalen Johnson and Jamari Sibley. His game one performance showed that he is more than ready for the opportunity.
Seth Trimble — Menomonee Falls
Seth Trimble put up 22 points in a loss for Menomonee Falls. However, his first game numbers are only part of the reason why Trimble finds himself on this list. Trimble was awarded with a scholarship offer from UW-Milwaukee following the first game of his sophomore season.
All around, it was a great week for the point guard.
Ashton Janowski — Pewaukee
If Ashton Janowski can continue this great play, he will find himself shooting up the 2022 class rankings. Janowski tallied 33 points in a big-time win for Pewaukee over Menomonee Falls.
Keep an eye out for this stellar sophomore.
Honorable mentions: Tre Valeriano — Milwaukee Washington, Logan Landers — Brookfield Academy
