Heading into 2020 there are still several Seniors looking for their collegiate homes. Here’s a quick rundown of the best available 2020s in Northern Kentucky. For our purposes, Northern Kentucky includes schools from the 8th, 9th and 10th regions.
DaeShawn White, Newport – One of the pleasant surprises in the 9th region, White is having a huge Senior season after waiting his turn behind what was a really strong 2019 class at Newport. Averaging a team high 21 points and 7 rebounds per game, White has also shot a solid 37% from 3 this year. DaeShawn could help a D2 or NAIA school at the next level.
Jalen Scott, Conner – Jalen has been receiving interest from the D2 and NAIA levels and should be a solid player at that level. Averaging 15 points and 5 rebounds per game, Scott is one of the better Seniors in the 9th region.
Wyatt Supplee, Carroll County – The state’s leading scorer, Supplee is managing to put up points while also shooting the ball well. Averaging 30.5 points while shooting 54% from the field, 39% from three and 77% from the free throw line while making over 10 per game. Wyatt will be a steal for whichever college lands him.
Grant Disken, Covington Catholic – Grant is a tough lead guard with a high IQ and the ability to score the ball at all 3 levels. Disken is leading Cov Cath with almost 18 points per game but his impact extends beyond the offensive end. He’s a leader. With an offer from Thomas More, Grant has a leg up on other players on this list.
Luke Dawalt, Grant County – Putting up 15 points and 9 rebounds per game, Dawalt has earned multiple D3 offers and should be a solid player at that level. Grant County’s postseason success will ultimately hinge on the effectiveness of Dawalt.
Treshawn Cody, Lloyd Memorial – One of the true hidden gems in Kentucky’s Senior class, Cody is a high level athlete who will rack up offers at any unsigned Senior event he ends up attending. Cody made the All Tournament team at LCA this weekend and is having a huge year, averaging 22 points and 10.5 rebounds per game.
Amirion Joyce, Bourbon County – Although Bourbon County isn’t really Northern Kentucky, that doesn’t change the fact that Joyce is one of the most under-recruited players in Kentucky. Amirion is capable of bullying defenders to the rim and finishing through contact. Joyce has recently added some Juco offers and could end up with even more looks if Bourbon can get to Rupp Arena.
Lincoln Bush, George Rogers Clark – Bush has good positional size at 6’7 and can play both inside and out. Lincoln is averaging just shy of a double-double with 13.8 points and 9.8 rebounds per game. He has a couple of offers already and should end up at the scholarship level after graduation.
Jordan Gross, Campbell County – The best shooter on this list, Gross is shooting a remarkable 47% from three while leading the Camels in scoring and rebounding. More than just a shooter, Gross can score the ball all over the floor and has been a proven winner throughout his career.
Zach Benton, Montgomery County – The tallest on this list, Benton is 6’9 and can stretch the floor with some decent shooting. Zach has a tendency to play more outside than inside but he can do a little bit of everything and is a solid rebounder too. He’s only played 5 games due to a transfer and should see his stats go up as he gets more comfortable in the Montgomery offense.
