Here are some teams that had particularly strong weeks:
Hatton/Northwood
Hatton/Northwood took a loss to a good Enderlin team in its opener but rebounded in a big way this past week. The Thunder beat a very good Dakota Prairie team Tuesday before taking down a Grafton/St. Thomas club that, while rebuilding, is still considered among the best in Region 2 Thursday.
Rugby
The Panthers kicked off their season in style, winning the CNDC Tournament by beating two top-15 teams in Dunseith and New Rockford-Sheyenne. Rugby got excellent play all tourney from junior guard Warren Walker, who averaged 11 points and four assists in the three-day stretch. Jaden Hamilton and Trace Goven are off to solid starts as well.
Hillsboro/Central Valley
Hillsboro is the top team in Class B and wasted little time proving it, beating a top-ranked Kindred team, in Kindred by 17 to start the week. The Burros kept the winning going, handling Drayton/Valley-Edinburg by 29. The Burros play Richland the Friday after Christmas in a top-three Class B matchup.
