While some have already seen some rise in recruitment, others are still working to get their names on the list of college coaches sooner than later.
Greenfield School Forward 6’7 Trey Pittman: You won’t see windmill or 360 dunks from Pittman but what you will see is a prospect that extremely fundamentally sound which is something that we know translates well to the next level. He has a legit post game with his back to the basket, as well as being a knock down shooter from college three point land. He does a nice job of using his IQ to score the ball so you will see plenty of: shot fakes, jab steps, coming off screens correctly, proper use of angles, and so forth when you watch him play. D2 Programs should not only be giving him a call but they should be dropping to see him play this season.
Freedom Christian Forward 6’9 Aymeric Toussaint: He’s picked up his level of production lately which included a 20 point/20 rebound performance on Thursday night vs Trinity of Durham. His ability to play inside the paint or stretch the floor with his ability to shoot the ball are all things that college coaches should like. D1 and D2 programs should be watching him closely over the next few months as he can play at either level.
Millbrook HS Forward 6’8 Will Felton: Mr. Double/Double is a nickname that fits him well as he is averaging around 20 points & 10 rebounds a game this season. Some D1 programs have offered already but expect many more to join in as he bring all the tools that you want to see from a big man prospect. High skillset, outstanding rebounding, shot blocking and just an overall high character young man.
Fayetteville Christian Forward 6’2 Daunte Gardner: Don’t let the height fool you, he’s shorter than most players at his position but fully makes up for it with his motor and athleticism. Time and time again we have seen him matchup with taller players and not have much of an issue at all, which is why programs at the D3 level have been showing a nice amount of interest.
South Johnston Forward 6’3 CJ Ray: He’s hit the ground running this season, racking up numerous 20+ point and 10+ rebound numbers while leading his team to a 4-0 record. D2, D3 and JC programs all have shown some interest and we feel he could perform well on each level as he is a player that is a PF but can play some wing as well.
Laney HS Forward 6’5 Demarcus McLaurin: D2 programs have already offered and it doesn’t take long to see why they are interested in landing him for next season. He has an advanced skillset, a frame that will only get toned up once he gets to college and a nice natural feel for the game. His squad is off to a 3-0 start and will look to keep that streak going as they take on cross town rival, Pender HS tonight.
