Walker is a 6’2″ point guard at Muskegon High School. He’s set to attend school and play basketball at Purdue University – Fort Wayne in the Summit League after high school. Walker comes from a storied basketball family. His mother and father starred at Ferris State, while his oldest sister just finished at Western Michigan and his other sister is currently playing there. Jordan Walker won the 2017 Miss Basketball.
Walker transferred to Muskegon from Muskegon Mona Shores last year. Muskegon has a tradition of fielding Mr. Basketball winners. Deshaun Thrower won it in 2014 and Deyonta Davis in 2015.
Jarvis Walker is coming off a stellar junior season. After missing the first part of the season due to transfer rules, he averaged 18.7 ppg, 5.1 rpg, 2.3 apg, and 1.2 spg. He was selected as a 2018-2019 AP Division 1 All-State player.
Walker is undoubtedly one of the most talented players in Michigan. He’s an up tempo and attacking player, yet stays under control. He’s an incredibly efficient player as evidenced by his 51% field goal percentage and 48% 3 point percentage. Walker is a versatile scorer that makes himself a threat from anywhere on the floor. Walker is simply a winner. No matter how you may critique his game, he wins. Coaches love him because he’s like a sponge for basketball knowledge.
Jarvis Walker is a positive leader both on and off the court. His Muskegon team is very talented and is a state championship contender this season. There’s a possibility that Walker leads his team to a state title and leads himself to Michigan’s Mr. Basketball award.
