Huntley would cruise to a win with neither teams starters playing much in the fourth quarter. Here are our Most Intriguing Prospects: Huntley vs McHenry.
Uchenna Egekeze (Huntley – 2020)
This 6’3” long armed and rangy shooting guard is one of the better perimeter defenders in the 2020 class. The unsigned senior is a force defensively with his active hands and anticipating passing lanes for steals. He recorded a handful of steals in this game as he always does often taking them the other way for scores. Hit a wing three early in the game letting it fly with confidence and got a bucket on a post-up. His forte is his defense, transition scoring, and rebounding from the guard spot. Went for 13 points. D2 programs need to be paying close attention here!
Ryan Sroka (Huntley – 2020)
Sroka is a 6’5” wing that presents quality size and a strong frame on the wing. He has great shot preparation being ready to shoot it before the ball even hits his hands. Crisp three point stroke as he knocked down a pair of them in this game. Also mixed in a straight line take with a left hand finish and a baseline take for a layup displaying he can put it on the deck some. Decent wing defender that competes on that end. He had 14 points.
Ryan Crosby (Huntley – 2020)
Crosby is a smaller point guard at only 5’9”. He pushes in the open floor and threw several nice entry passes to his big men. Also hit a three for 5 points.
Luke DiFrancesca (Huntley – 2020)
This 6’6” 230 pound big man was a fun player to watch. He has a thicker build and soft touch around the hoop. Very efficient with his touches on the block. Hook shots, pick/roll finishes, and ran the floor for a bucket en route to 10 points.
Brett Loeding (McHenry – 2020)
The biggest bright spot for McHenry was this 5’11” senior point guard. Crafty scorer in the lane that made layups and floaters. Also got to the foul line at a high rate where he shot it well. Hit a corner three early in the game. The clear leader for this squad. He had 15 points.
Anthony Fowler & Kyle Kaempf (McHenry – 2022)
McHenry is struggling right now, but they do have some hope for their future with this wing duo. Each one of them knocked in a pair of threes for their 6 points looking comfortable spotting up from beyond the arc.
