In a preseason loss to Manalapan on Wednesday, Po showed that he is ready for the season and big things are coming. The junior finished with 19 points in the game and got them in all different ways.Po got going early using his mid-range game. Showing his ability to go left and right, Po knocked down two pull-up jumpers off two dribbles in the first quarter. He continued his diverse scoring by knocking down three’s and getting to the basket and finishing with contact. Po finished 3-4 at the free throw line.
Monmouth needs Po to have a big season. He scored all seven points for the Falcons in the third quarter of the exhibition. The highlight was a deep, jab step three over the outstretched hand of his defender. there is no shortage of confidence from the junior who is entering his second varsity season.
Po made a name for himself in the Shore Conference as a sophomore. He scored over 250 points and nailed 36 three’s as an underclassman. He had 13 games of 10 or more points last season including a stretch of six in a row and seven out of eight. His season-high came in a loss to Rumson-Fair Haven where he poured in 17 points.
All of the numbers put up by Po as a sophomore are expected to go up this season. Monmouth has a clear leader on their team who can score the ball and bring energy. With two high school seasons left on his ledger, big things are in store for Po and the Falcons.
