Nick Roper 6’7″ MICDS (’21): The smooth wing player will emerge into quite a prospect and he got the season started with a game-high 17 points in the victory over Metro. Roper has a nice lefty stroke from 3-point range, but he also displayed some athleticism with three slam dunks in transition. He can also get to the basket and knock down the mid-range jumper
Barcus Jackson 6’1″ Lift for Life: The junior wing player fought off some early foul trouble to score 13 points in the first-round win over St. Charles West. He has smooth handles and he gets to where he wants to go on the dribble. He can knock down perimeter jumpers and also get into the middle area. He also showcased his defensive prowess with three steals, with two of them leading directly to his own buckets.
Myles Estrada 6’1″ Francis Howell Central (’21): A rock solid wing player who scored a game-high 16 points in a victory over Riverview Gardens. He is a unique player in that he is a knock down shooter from 3-point range, but he can also go inside and score in the post, where he uses his physical strength against opposing guards. His feel for the game is good as he handled the ball and dropped some nice dimes to open teammates.
Rico Singleton 6’2″ Lift for Life (’21): An aggressive wing player who scored 13 points in the Hawks victory over St. Charles West in the first round. He was the MVP of the Metro East Lutheran Thanksgiving Tournament last week and he continued that excellent play.
Brandon Mitchell-Day 6’7″ MICDS (’22): The all-around talent scored 11 points and did a little bit of everything in the first round victory over Metro. He was tough when he was getting downhill to the basket and he used his size to be very effective on the offensive glass. He plays multiple positions, including the point guard where he is the team’s primary ball handler and facilitator.
Brennan Orf 6’3″ Westminster (’20): A Division I baseball recruit, Orf showed that he can get the job done on the basketball court with a clutch performance in an overtime victory over St. Dominic. He does his best work in the paint where he uses his big body to his advantage. He has the toughness to finish well in traffic and get three-point plays. He loves the contact and physical play inside.
John Wilson 6’6″ St. Charles West (’21): The big-bodied post player muscled inside for 25 points in the losing cause against Lift for Life. He used his 280 pounds to his advantage around the basket as he established his position in the low post and used the glass well on his finishes. He had a couple of shots roll of the rim or else he would have had a 30-point outing.
Anthony Lewis 6’1″ St. Dominic (’21): The thick-bodied wing player was the Crusaders’ leading scorer in an overtime loss to Westminster. With his team trailing by six points late in regulation, he scored nine consecutive points to give his team a three-point lead. He is one of the best 3-point shooters around with his ability to move without the ball and his quick release. He can spot up well or come off screens ready to shoot.
