2020 6’9 Jamel Melvin | Potomac
The 2020 unsigned senior took MVP honors after finishing with 18 points, 11 rebounds and five blocks in a win against Fairfax Christin 45-41. Melvin has the capability to put up stats like this a lot during the year given his size advantage over a lot of guys in his league. At the end of the year he will be near the top of the list for top rebounders and shot blockers in the area.
2020 5’11 Kaleb Torrence | Fairfax Christian
I did not know that much about Kaleb before this game but I walked away saying to myself that he is one of the most underrated players in the local 2020 class. He already has a college ready body and displayed great lead guard skills for Fairfax Christian. He tallied 12 points after shooting 4/7 from deep.
2021 6’3 Isaiah Folkes | Middleburg
The 2021 guard finished with 17 points, 8 assists and 8 rebounds in a huge win for Middleburg over Friendship Tech. With this type of stat line he showed that he can affect the game in a lot of ways. One of the most impressive things I got out of watching him is how aggressive he is when going downhill. He is very hard to stop when he is coming down the court on you and showed that he is hard to stop while in transition. After the game he earned an offer from Georgetown.
2021 6’3 Jaden House | Middleburg
The other 2021 guard from Middleburg that landed an offer from Georgetown was Jaden House. House is a strong scoring guard that can shoot it from all over but is also can finish strong when driving to the rim and use his body to draw fouls. He got to the line three times where he went 5 for 6. He plays with a ton of energy on both ends of the ball which was noticeable right away. He finished with 13 points.
2021 6’0 Devin Ceaser | St. Mary’s Ryken
I do not know what colleges are waiting for as 2021 Devin Ceaser put on another impressive performance Saturday night. He shot 50% from the field finishing with 22 points. He got after it on defense getting in the passing lane to get a couple steals that led to transition points. The 2021 guard has always had a good burst of speed and that was on display again in a Ryken win.
