Game 1: Greensburg vs Southport
This game has been a battle thus far here at Southport Fieldhouse. Neither team has been able to make any kind of run. Colin Comer from Greensburg has played really well making smart decisions with the ball and putting on the pressure on defense. Matt Munzo has been playing great down low on both ends with a few rebounds and a couple of put-backs. Should be a great second half. – 1H Score: Greensburg 33, Southport 30
This was a fantastic game played by both squads. Both teams never gave up any easy buckets and both were evenly matched. In the end, it was Southport who was able to come out on top. Andrew Welege (21 points) and AJ Dancer (22 points) were the best on the floor. Fun game. – Final: Southport 62, Greensburg 58
Game 2: Brownsburg vs Heritage Hills
This game started off really slow in the 1Q as there seemed to be a lot of standing around going on for both teams. Once the 2Q started, the pace quickened and both of these squads started rolling. Best players of the game so far have been Blake Sisley (Heritage Hills) and Pierce Thomas (Brownsburg). Really loving the big man matchup of Sisley and Malek Edmonds. – 1H Score: Brownsburg 30, Heritage Hills 29
Coming out of halftime and in Q3, this was a close contest. However in Q4 is where Brownsburg really started putting it on Heritage Hills. The Patriots just could not find a way to stop the Bulldog’s offense. Pierce Thomas had 17 points and 9 rebounds in this game and was phenomenal throughout. Good win for Brownsburg. – Final: Brownsburg 72, Heritage Hills 54
Game 3: Hamilton Southeastern vs Gary West
In Q1 it looked like Hamilton Southeastern might run away with it with having a 10 point lead on Gary West. However, Gary West did a nice job of coming together to put up a better fight. Mabor Majok is winning the big man battle so far against Mason Nicholson. Really liking what I am seeing from Gary West’s Parion Robertson as he has been the best player on offense for them with two nice catch-and-shoot threes. – 1H Scoer: HSE 33, Gary West 31
This game was a lot of HSE going on a huge run and Gary West finding ways to get it back to being close. Thought the best player of today’s game was Gary West’s Parion Roberson as he contributed a lot on the offense with his multiple catch-and-shoot threes. Vinny Buccilla is a real smart PG and made some really good passes for scores. In the end, HSE was just too much for Gary West. Kole Hornbuckle was the leading scorer with 15 points today. – Final: HSE 62, Gary West 51
Game 4: Carmel vs Evansville Reitz
A very physical game this one has been as both teams are scrapping it out right now. Reitz is having a real hard time guarding the arc and Carmel has been taking advantage of it, especially Peter Suder as he has busted a few threes. Khristian Lander and Mar’Quan Givens are keeping Reitz in this one. Let’s see if the Panthers can so a better job on defense in the second half. – 1H Score: Carmel 30, Reitz 23
Story of this game was that Reitz could not get stops on defense and Carmel was simply just the better team. Retiz could not connect as team this game and Carmel took advantage of that. Carmel’s Peter Suder (21 points) and Charlie Williams(12 point) both played excellent and made some great plays on offense. Khristian Lander showed off his tremendous skill-set in this one and finished with 18 points – Final: Carmel 63, Reitz 37
Game 5: Silver Creek vs Fort Wayne Blackhawk
Well this game started off looking like Blackhawk was going to run away with this one. Silver Creek just looked dis-energized and did not make good plays. However Kooper Jacobi (26 points) put Silver Creek on his back and made this a game. He has been the best player on the court and nobody from Blackhawk can stop him so far. This has already been the best game so far today and we still have another half to go. – 1H Score: Silver Creek 44, Blackhawk 44
This was the best game of the day by far. This was a battle of top 2021 prospects in Kooper Jacobi, Trey Kaufman and Caleb Furst. Jacobi was the MVP of the entire event as he dropped 36 points. Kaufman had a solid 17 points and Furst had a double-double with 23 points and 10 rebounds. Best game of the today…..period. – Final: Silver Creek 78, Blackhawk 74.
Game 6: Bloomington South vs Culver Academy
As the crowd has started to file out as the Forum Tip-Up comes to a close, we still have one more game to play. This game so far has been very subpar to say the least. Nobody has really stood out for both teams. For South, Leal has 9 and Hickman has 8. For Culver, Craig has 6 and Hittle has 5. It is a shame Galloway is not playing. – 1H Score: South 22, Culver 16
With a first half that was fairly close, the second half saw Bloomington South control for the most part. Joey Bomba(9) shot the ball extremely well from behind the arc as his teammate Anthony Leal(11) did his thing. Culver was just missing their best player,Trey Galloway, in this one to make this a somewhat even contest. That is a wrap for the 2019 Southport Forum Tip-Off Classic. – Final: Bloomington South 44, Culver Academy 38
