Skyview (0-6) vs. Niwot (3-3)
Skyview’s Jabree Berry (2021 G), averaging 7.8 points a game, and Victor Gonzales (2021 F), averaging 3.5 rebounds a game, will start the year against Niwot’s Cooper Sheldon (2020 G), with 13.3 point a game, and Austin Rathburn (2020 C/F), averaging 7.5 rebounds per game. Skyview definitely has a tough post-break opener.
Conifer (7-2) vs Silver Creek (2-4)
Conifer’s Elijah Cook (2020 G) and Ocean Hageman (2020 F) are seniors with a combined 225 points and 94 rebounds on the season.
Will Silver Creek’s Andrew Duquette (2020 G), who is averaging 18.8 points per game and shooting 81% from the free-throw line, be able to lead his team to an upset win over the Lobos at the Roughrider Shootout?
Fruita Monument (5-4) vs Thoreau (5-4)
Marcus Labonde (2020 G) will be leading the Wildcats against New Mexico’s Thoreau Hawks at the Aztec Tournament. Labonde is averaging 17.2 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 6.4 assists a game. Add Cole Savage’s (2021 G) 11.6 points a game along with Jack Hawkins’ (2020 F) 7.7 rebounds a game to what Labonde brings to the court, and this should make for a very interesting matchup.
Steamboat Springs (2-6) vs Pueblo County (3-5)
Steamboat Springs’ Ethan Pyles (2020 G) and Dawson Lindquist (2020 G/F) will have their work cut out for them on Thursday at the Roughrider Shootout. Pyles is averaging 10.6 points, 3.4 assists, and 2 steals per game, while Lindquist is averaging 10.7 points and 6 rebounds a game with 22 deflections on the season.
Pueblo County’s Jordan Manzanares (2020 G) and Colin Raper (2020 G) have a combined 223 points and 70 rebounds on the season. Jordan is averaging 16.4 points and 4.5 rebounds per game while Colin is putting up 11.5 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game.
