(No particular order)
Danair Dempsey, 6’6, F, Papillion-Lavista South 2021
Dempsey is a long athletic prospect who just moved here from Kansas. He was attending Wichita Heights and played his summer ball with Mokan Elite. The Titans got a great addition to the roster with Danair. He is a solid rim defender who knows how to use his length. He has some ability on the offensive end as well and capable of knocking down the open jump shots, and rim running for easy baskets in transition. Danair should make a huge impact for Papio South right away.
Deng Diew, 6’7, F, Omaha Central 2020
Any time you can add some size to your roster that’s always a welcomed addition. Omaha Central got just that in 6’7 forward Deng Diew. Deng Diew is a senior who recently moved to Omaha from Minneapolis. Central didn’t have ton of size before he made the move to Omaha. Deng appears to be exactly what the doctor ordered and will provide a much-needed presence in the front court. He can play and guard multiple positions. He can also put the ball on the floor when he needs to. The skilled big will help try to help Central get back to another title game this year.
Sam and Charlie Hoiberg, (Both 6’0) Lincoln Pius X 2021
Everyone is excited for the new look Huskers this winter with Fred Hoiberg taking over the program. Lincoln Pius X fans should be thrilled considering Fred’s talented sons have moved here and are now attending Pius. They spent last year attending Hinsdale Central High School in Illinois, and playing summer ball with Break Away Basketball in Under Armour circuit. What are the Lincoln Pius X Thunderbolts getting with the Hoiberg brothers? They are getting two elite shooters with high basketball IQs. Sam and Charlie both are athletic and crafty finishers around the basket. The duo will add some depth to the back court for the Thunderbolts.
Jadin Johnson, 6’4, Millard North 2021
Millard North has an abundance of returning talent and they just landed a very skilled point guard in jading Johnson. Jadin Johnson had previously attended Abraham-Lincoln in Council Bluffs and played his summer ball with Martin Brothers. The point guard is a high energy guy who plays with pace. He uses his length well to get into passing lanes on the defensive end. Offensively Jadin is a strong ball handler who can find creases and get downhill. He will have a talented group of guys around him and Millard North will rely on him to be the floor general and set the table for his teammates.
