Gilmore 5’11 put on a show on Saturday night vs Trinity-Byrnes. Gilmore finished the game with 41 points and a 80-68 win for the Saints over the Titans. Gilmore plays the game with a great deal of emotion at times and has no shortage of confidence on the floor. Gilmore a gym rat won’t hesitate to launch it from 25 feet and for sure wants the ball in his hands during crunch time. Gilmore played football this season and played multiple positions on the field for the 8-man Saints squad. Gilmore was a wide receiver – defensive back and quarterback at times for the Saints.
Traveon DavisTraveon Davis – Clarendon Hall (Summerton)
Davis 6’5 has GREAT RANGE on his shot from behind the arc. Davis who weighs 235 pounds moves quite well for his size and really likes to stalk the baseline when given the opportunity. Davis has a South Carolina State offer along with NCAA D2 interest still needs to take care of the SAT/ACT. Davis started off his career at Lake Marion HS before helping the Saints win a SCISA Class 1A State Championship last season. Davis sees the floor very well and has the ability to bring the ball up the floor with guard skills.
Jordan JonesJordan Jones – Trinity-Byrnes (Darlington)
Jones was great in the 3rd place game over Laurence Manning Academy with 28 points and 6 steals. Jones made All-Tourney honors on the weekend after the Titans finished (2-1). Jones a left-handed guard likes to score the ball and really likes to play a up-tempo style of play. Ford has really picked up his defensive mind set recently and always has been known to be a scorer.
Amarion ColetrainAmarion Coletrain – Trinity-Byrnes (Darlington)
Coletrain is just a blue collar undersized post that gives your team great production. Coletrain 6’3 plays bigger than his size in the paint and delivers put-backs on the glass and constant effort. Coletrain finished with 15 points, 8 rebounds and 3 deflections in the 3rd place game vs Laurence Manning Academy.
Cameron SpainCameron Spain – Socastee HS (Myrtle Beach)
Spain 6’7 forward didn’t play until the 2nd half on Saturday after he was taking the ACT/SAT in the morning. Spain is a live body around the cup and moves well. Spain needs to finish better through contact and at times play with more confidence. Spain will be the focal point heading into region play for the Braves.
Chase LeeChase Lee – Laurence Manning Academy (Manning)
Lee really likes to set up shop in the corners for shots. Lee is more of a catch-shoot guy on the floor. Lee compliments teammate Umar Lawson well at times on the floor. Lee won’t overwhelm you with a ton of athleticism but he can hit shots on the perimeter, which at times is a lost art in todays game.
