Many of the top teams on the West Coast were invited plus some out of area top-tier teams.
Here were some of the soph standouts from the West Coast, which included one top-10 players in the class:
Amari Bailey CG 6’4 Sierra Canyon (CA) (Ranked #8)
-A big time athlete who can take one step and explode up to the cup and dunk the ball or finish. He likes getting downhill and taking a hit to score it. Makes many difficult shots with great body control in the air. A sneaky good passer that whips it right to teammates. Smart player that knows when to slow down or make a burst into the lane and score or make a play off of it.
Sadraque Nganga F 6’9 Hillcrest Prep
-A fluid forward who is very athletic and takes very few steps to get to the cup to dunk the ball. He is a unique player who handles it well and can create his own shot. He gets downhill easily and is a mismatch vs most forwards. He rebounds in area and can and will take it coast to coast.
Joshua Jefferson PF 6’7 Liberty (NV)
-Thick post player can step out and hit the 3. Incredible length and strength and uses it to rebound in and out of his area. He is slowly leaning out and is moving better. We could have another good one from Liberty.
Jefferson will be the focal point when Julian Strawther graduates.Henri Adrissa C 6’10 Crossroads (CA)
-An intriguing prospect with great size and length. Then you add a few impressive post moves and he should be a name to know on the West Coast. His go-to move is his right hand hook shot and has a decent FT touch plus had some impressive dunks.
Jordan Pope PG 6’1 Prolific Prep (CA)
-Had a breakout game for himself showing how gifted he is. He didn’t get a lot of PT in the local Grind Session. He played a lot off the bench this weekend. He has very good court vision with deep 3pt range. He has a quick trigger and can slither in the lane and use the floater consistently.
