Cal Greene of Mahtomedi. Today we got a great look at Cal Greene, a 6-foot-6 small forward that is scoring 15 a game this season. Greene is really good behind the defense and he was able to finish at the rim with physical finishes in small windows. Greene also hit a pair of jumpers showing off a touch that looks promising and I thought he passed the ball really well from the wing and moving around in the high post area. A good physique, was comfortable with the ball on the perimeter meaning he should be able to play the three at the next level, and totaled 16 points on 16 attempts with eight boards. Definitely looks like a scholarship level prospect.
Pal Kueth of Mankato East. Kueth is a 6-foot-4 wing that plays the instant offense 6th man role for the Cougars and he’s the perfect fit for that role. Kueth aggressively looks for his offense using one dribble attack finishes and physical driving attacks with a soft touch. He’s starting level scorer that comes off the bench because he plays on a very good team. Next year he will be one of the team’s top two scorers but right now Pal is reserve that teams instantly have to locate (and use one of their best players to defend him).
Riley Mahlman of Lakeville South. Simply immovable AND he knows how to get in position. That combination means low post touches, rebounding position and screens are a big part of the consistency you get with Lakeville South basketball. The future Badger football player Grabbed 11 boards and made four of his five attempts. Great footwork but the best part of Riley is how he uses his body in such a quick way at his size.
Tommy Mestnik of Prior Lake. Mestnik is a 6-foot-1 guard that is starting to become a reliable shooter for the Lakers. He’s in his first days as a varsity player so consistency is something he is still working towards but hitting three jumpers against Park Center is a good start. Scoring seven a game for the Lakers right now.
Will Kietzman of MCA. Keep an eye on Will who we have seen listed at 6-foot-10. He was hit in the nose tonight forcing him to leave the game but this is a wide bodied old school center who touched the ball a few times on the block and did a good job defending Thomas Diew before getting hurt.
