Prep Hoops Georgia headed northward as a pair of 6A Region 7 squads off to surprising starts tangled at the Cougar's Lair of Chattahoochee HS last Friday night when North Atlanta headed up 400N to Johns Creek, and to go with an exciting, close 55-51 NAHS win, multiple players who might not yet appear on our rankings list made statements for future consideration.

Cameron Sheffield

Cameron Sheffield (Chattahoochee), G - The 6-5 senior seemingly had to do it all in the absence of standout junior point guard A.J. White, who was serving the 2nd of a two-game suspension. Not a true ball-handling lead guard, Sheffield nonetheless took on the responsibility with aplomb, and against an assortment of creative pressures from North Atlanta handled himself extremely well in the role. Built to be more of a wing player, Sheffield showed off that part of his game early and often as well, netting 12 of his game-high 28 points in a 1st quarter which saw the Cougars jump out to a 24-12 lead.
