Michael Myrie Was Best Player On The Court
It is only a matter of time until schools start to recruit 2021 Michael as he has elite athleticism that will translate to the next level. Finishing with 15 points, he showed that he can score at all three levels and is scary good while in transition. I was also really impressed with his handle as he used that to get by defenders all game long.
Jordan Alphonso Is Fully Back From Injury
Last year Jordan did not not finish the season for Paint Branch due to an injury but he is back now and played a crucial role for Paint Branch. One of the main highlights of the night is when he connected on a huge two handed putback dunk that really got the Paint Branch gym going. He finished with 13 points while getting many of his points down low over smaller defenders.
Magruder Can Drain Three’s
If Magruder doesn’t connect on some of the three’s that attempted last night, they don’t win this game. Magruder can really shoot the ball and that showed last night. There were a handful of times when the shot probably was not a good decision but somehow ended up going in. The team finished with 12 three’s last night.
Rashid Abudu Impresses
Rashid hit the game winning three for Magruder with 14 seconds left after scoring the ball all game long. Finishing with 17 points on the night, he was impressive in the mid range and used quickness to get by defenders to finish around the rim.
Juan Bell & Anthony Wright Are A Tough Duo
Even though Paint Branch took this loss last night, they should still have a solid year due to the fact they have the duo of 2021 Juan Bell and 2020 Anthony Wright. They led Paint Branch last night combining for 34 points. It was Bells ability to attack the rim was impressive as for Wright it was his jumper that helped Paint Branch throughout the game.
