Piedmont Classic vs Moravian Prep: The teams met up already with Moravian taking the win 70-59, but the rematch will be at PCHS where they got their first win of the season. MP has been rolling since the season started and this weekend was no different as they won both games by double figures. PCHS is sitting at 3-3 record wise and will look to bounce back from their recent loss to TCS.
Freedom Christian vs Trinity Christian: The teams are battling for one of the top spots in the Conference as both have seen quite a bit of success early on. Freedom Christian has gotten off to a tremendous start but will see one of their toughest test in TCS who has a young but very talented team. One of the consistent standout performers for Freedom Christian has been 2021 6’5 Guard Jayden Dole who is averaging over 16 points a night.
Westover HS vs Pine Forest: With both teams being viewed as some of the top teams in the Cape Fear Region, this game has a chance to be a good one without a doubt. Pine Forest Freshman Guard Isaiah Washington has been lighting it up, leading the county in scoring already at about 19 PPG. Westover HS Junior D’Marco Dunn has been turning plenty of heads already with his play as he recently put together a 23 point performance.
Henderson Collegiate vs Greenfield: The last time these two teams met, Greenfield got the win by one point, so we can expect these squads to match up well once again. HC Senior Kalib Matthews & Junior Guard Javonte Waverly have both been as good as advertised with Matthews being signed to Queens and Waverly picking up D1 offers. Greenfield has continued to get things done by committee from Seniors: Dji Bailey, Trey Pittman, Creighton Lebo & Collin Guilford.
Northside (Jax) vs Laney: If you’re looking for some good Senior and Junior talent, this is the place that you will want to drop in to see. Laney HS features sharp shooting Junior Guard Makoa Surigao and double/double Senior Forward Demarcus McLaurin. While Northside features talent of their own in Senior Forward Quincy Martin Jr (12 PPG) & Junior Forward Aaron Oates (11 PPG).
Fayetteville Academy vs Wayne Country Day: This is a rematch of the NCISAA 2A State Championship game from last season with both teams looking a bit different from the last time they met. Fayetteville Academy has pretty much an entire new roster as they graduated a high amount of seniors, while WCD has some returners but new additions as well. WCD is off to an 8-0 start with their most recent victory coming over NWT.
