They have types of players they want to fill their roster. Let’s look at some players in the class of 2021 that would fill out a college coach’s wish list.
WISH LIST
Mr. Everything
Legend Geeter (6’7″, F, River Rouge)
Geeter can play anywhere on the floor. He can basically guard 4-5 positions. Geeter can work outside-in or inside-out on offense.
Leader
Pierre Brooks Jr. (6’5″, SG, Detroit Frederick Douglass)
Brooks is a high IQ player and is very disciplined. These traits rub off on his teammates. Brooks is a seasoned veteran and leads both vocally and by example.
Defense
Julian Lewis (6’5″, SG, Ann Arbor Huron)
Lewis is one of the best on ball defenders in Michigan. He understands rotations and plays solid team defense. If a coach needs a stop in an isolation set, Lewis would be their choice to defend.
Underrated
Blake Lund (6’1″, CG, Linden)
Lund is a star and has the talent to play big time college basketball. Scouts and college coaches need to see this young man. He’s an excellent shooter with 3 point range and is quickly developing point guard skills.
Big With Potential
Javantae Randle (6’9″, PF, Detroit Frederick Douglass)
Randle shot up the prospect rankings this spring and summer. He’s a long rim protector and is always a threat for put back buckets. Randle is just at the tip of the iceberg right now.
All Around Athlete
Brendan Sullivan (6’5″, SF, Davison)
Sullivan was one of the top high school football players in Michigan this fall. Watch, because now he’ll be one of the best basketball players in the class of 2021. There’s not much that Sullivan can’t do athletically.
Shooter
Ryan Grantham (6’3″, G/F, Grand Rapids Catholic Central)
Grantham can flat out fill it up from deep. He can hit a triple from the corner to the top of the arc. Grantham can hit off thecdribble or the catch.
Floor General
Simon Wheeler (5’10”, PG, Ypsilanti-Lincoln)
Wheeler plays the point guard position with flash and flare. He takes pride in helping his teammates pad their offensive numbers. Wheeler is one of the quickest guards in the class.
