Choctaw’s Ball Movement
Extra pass, to extra pass to extra pass, Choctaw stuck to their game and executed it perfectly Saturday night against El Reno. Designed plays allowing for a baseline drive and a quick dump down gave Choctaw dozens of easy looks around the rim that they executed on nearly every time. These drives then forced El Reno to clog the paint, leading to Choctaw knocking down multiple shots from behind the arc.
Blocks on blocks on blocks.
There was a block party over in Harrah Saturday night and the city of Choctaw decided to invite themselves to it. Three players on Choctaw recorded at least 2 blocks apiece. Choctaw’s excellent help defense allowed for the shot blockers to time their jumps perfectly and get the ball moving back in transition.
Terrill Davis – Choctaw – 2021
No matter what the El Reno defense threw in front of him, Davis’ athleticism and drive willed him to get to the bucket and score. The aggressiveness and passion he plays with is always apparent on the court and translates into his game. The junior did not slack off on the defensive end either. Davis was constantly applying on-ball pressure and forced multiple El Reno turnovers. Davis exemplifies the energy college coaches look for in a player, so others should definitely take notice!
Sean Franklin – Choctaw – 2021
Franklin had one of the best quarters I’ve seen in a high school basketball game. Scoring on all three levels and showing off his extraordinary athleticism on both sides of the ball, Franklin’s game is one of the most important aspects of this Choctaw team. Sean had two HUGE blocks in the first half, one preventing what looked to be a wide-open layup at the end of the first quarter. Franklin’s ten-point second quarter gave Choctaw a major boost going into the half and solidified their lead.
