Daeshawn Hemphill (Evanston – 2021)
Hemphill continued his strong start to his junior year with another big performance at the Chicago Elite Classic. The shooting guard transfer is stepping in perfectly with his new group with his toughness, grit, and scoring punch. He recorded 12 points in their win over Niles Notre Dame.
Louis Perona (Lane Tech – 2020)
Perona came out of nowhere to record a double double of 13 points and 12 rebound on 3-7 from the field while going 7-11 from the line. He was everywhere on the floor and opened the eyes of small college programs with his play at the Chicago Elite Classic.
Trey Pettigrew (Fenwick – 2022)
Pettigrew had an early career defining performance at Chicago Elite Classic. With a pair of high major juniors on the floor it was Pettigrew who might have had the best game. He knocked down pull up jump shots, got to the rim with his athleticism, and flashed as a dynamic playmaking scoring point guard. He had 22 points
Darnell King (Kenwood – 2020)
King came off the bench for Kenwood and the 6’5” power forward shined with his ability to get on the glass on the defensive end and use his length to both board along with playing quality defense. He had 23 points on 8-15 from the field and 7-8 at the free throw line.
Avyion Morris (Simeon – 2021)
Morris is a smaller guard that is looking to make an impact this season. He provided a bit of a spark off the bench for Simeon hitting a three and using his speed leave his imprint on the game. Only scored 5 points, but made a bigger impact on the game than just that.
Gabe Madej (Fenwick – 2022)
Madej is a prospect that we saw during the fall at multiple events emerge, but this was his first big opportunity to shine on the big stage drilling three triples for 9 points.
