As the season continues to progress, we fully expect to see this to continue with players becoming more comfortable with new teammates, coaches, etc. So let’s jump right in and take a look at some of the top performers from Monday & Tuesday night this week.
Farmville Central & NCCU signee Guard Justin Wright was cooking the nets as usual as he went for 31 points in another win to extend Farmville Central’s winning streak. Wright has been a player who has only gotten better over the years and knows what it takes to win games, look for the PG to be a huge part in leading FCHS to back to back championships.
The Washington HS duo teamed up for a big time performance vs Kinston HS that helped them to take the game to the wire on Tuesday night. Junior Guard Omarion Blount finished with 23 points while Senior Guard Rashod Smith scored 18 points, it’s clear that the program and both players should be picking up college interest.
First Flight HS Senior Guard Dylan Blake went for 42 points while Senior Guard Jordan High went for 43 points in a win Tuesday night. Both of these young men can flat out shoot it but that’s not the only thing they can do well. Blake has the ability to rebound the ball well and has a great IQ for the game, while High can get into the paint using his slashing ability.
Riverside HS Sophomore Wing Avion Pinner is turning the corner as a prospect and Monday night was a prime example as he went for 30 points vs Bertie. You won’t get many words from him as he is a player that is simply all business, never too high or too low, and efficient with the touches he gets.
Kinston HS Junior Guard Dontrez Styles & Senior Guard Isaac Parson came to play on Tuesday night and almost came up with double/double numbers. Styles went for 22 points and pulled down 9 rebounds, while Parson was his usual self at the PG spot, scoring 10 points and dishing out 9 assist.
Richmond County Junior Forward Nygie Stroman continues to play at a very high level as he led the squad with 17 points on the day. Stroman is a player with nice athletic ability and potential to be a double/double guy on a nightly basis.
Clayton HS 2021 G/F BJ Freeman is continuing his play at a stellar level as he went for 28 points and 9 rebounds. Freeman recently picked up an offer from Radford and has interest from a high amount of MM and HM programs around the country.
Triple double Alert! It’s rare to see a high school player pull this off in a 32 min game, but we saw it happened this week not once but twice!
Lumberton HS Senior Guard Jordan McNeill finished with 18 Points, 10 Rebounds and 10 assist in their win over New Hanover. McNeill has been on a tear this season, breaking the All-Time record for scoring at Lumberton HS and is looking to boost his recruitment as he has been a bit under the radar.
We have seen this young man put up monster numbers over the last few years and it will only continue as he is off to a great start this season. With the staff from Elon University in the building, Elijah Jamison went for 35 points, 15 rebounds and 11 assist on the night.
