Continue ReadingAnother night of high school hoops is in the books and we have another good group of standout performers who put on a show for the fans to see. Let’s take a look at some of the players that put up big time numbers in their matchups on Monday and Tuesday night.
Pender HS Senior Guard Jajaun Carr has been known for his ability to score for quite some time now, but he took it to another level in their matchup with East Carteret. Carr went for 48 points on the night, leading his team to a big time win after suffering a loss to a strong Trinity Christian team over the weekend. His scoring ability, quickness, athletic ability and many more attributes are the reason why D1 programs are showing high interest.
One of the top unsigned seniors in the state is Silas Mason over at Ben L Smith, and he’s proven time and time again that whatever school gets him, will be landing a solid player overall. Last night was no different as he lit it up for 34 points in their matchup with Triangle Math & Science, increasing their record to 7-1.
Trinity Christian now stands at 12-1 after a win over Mount Zion and was led in scoring by Senior Forward Todd Burtt who went for 27 points. Burtt currently hold LM & MM offers and has put together some very nice performances for TCS so far this season.
Dixon HS Junior Guard Logan Hubbard finished with 19 Points, 6 Assist and 7 Rebounds in their blowout win against Southwest Onslow on Tuesday night. Just take a quick glance at his overall stats for the start of this season and you can see how many ways he impacts the game with his play. 18 PPG, 7.5 RPG, 5.4 APG and 1.1 SPG as the starting guard on a squad that holds a 7-1 record currently.
Grace Christian Senior Guard Phil Martin Jr went for 25 Points in their win over South Wake on Tuesday night. Martin has picked up recruitment from D3 programs due to his ability to be able to shoot the ball at a high level but is using this season to show he can run the show at the PG position as well.
Southern Durham HS Unsigned Senior Guard Ricky Council IV continued his stellar play with monster numbers of 33 Points & 14 Rebounds in a matchup with Northern Durham. Council has helped to lead the squad to a 3-1 record and has picked up interest and offers from all types of programs at the MM level.
Hoggard HS Unsigned Senior Guard Sabastian Haidera continues to make a case for a boost in his recruitment as he puts up nice numbers for his squad. He finished with 18 points in their win over Ashley HS which improves their record to 6-1 as they prepare to travel down to Fayetteville, NC for the Holiday classic.
