Desert Vista has absolutely demolished everyone in their path so far. They have an immensely deep roster filled with high level talent. Osasere Ighodaro, Andrew King, Dasean Lecque, John Soloman, etc. They have a deep roster and I think as of right now, they are the undisputed top team in 6A.
#2 Skyline 7-1
Coming in at #2 is Skyline. Skyline unfortunately was involved in that brawl a few weeks back, which resulted in their forfeit loss to Tolleson. This is their only loss of the season, without the forfeit they would have been 8-0. Even without the loss, I still would put Skyline at #2 just because they haven’t been winning by as large figures as Desert Vista has. However, I do believe that Skyline has the potential to overtake the #1 spot here in the near future.
#3 Chandler 8-1
Chandler is playing very well, with their only loss coming to Gilbert, another very talented team. Chandler has been doing some great things behind the scoring ability of Carson Kelly and the play making ability of Mekhi Mason. The team is currently without their transfer, Isaiah Broady. We will have to see what happens with their team once he is back. Sometimes adding in a new player who demands the ball a lot can throw off their chemistry and rhythm.
#4 Perry 5-2
Perry is currently 5-2, with one of their losses coming to Mater Dei, one of the best schools in the nation and are led by Kentucky commit Devin Askew. Perry had seemingly lost a lot of talent from last year’s team but they are still showing that they are a force to be reckoned with. Dylan Anderson is playing extremely well and looks like a high level D1 player.
#5 Cesar Chavez 4-3
Chavez 3 games in a row, which is why they have fallen drastically in the 6A power rankings, they were #1 in the preseason power rankings. After their loss to Skyline, a brawl erupted and that led Cesar Chavez to forfeit their next game against Tolleson. This was their second loss but it came from a forfeit so I don’t put too much weight into that. What really shocked me was their 76-49 loss to Boulder Creek. Unfortunately, these three losses drop them to the #5 spot in 6A rankings.
