Short answer is No. He is one of the highest rated football players in the class of 2021. I have seen him play 5 times in 2019 and I don’t remember one game where he wasn’t one of the best players on the floor, and this includes his performances for Seattle Rotary. I’m not sure how many dominant 6’6 power forwards there are in college, but with his combination of footwork, soft hands and ability to knock down free throws, he definitely would be one.
(2) How Does Gorman Solve It’s Depth Issues?
Getting Noah Taitz back would help. Outside of that, the best thing that could happen for them is a schedule break. If ever a team was in need of some blowouts it was the Gaels right now. They probably will need to get some minutes for some of the more inexperienced players, as well as provide some confidence boosters from some of the guys that have had to step into the rotation. When you’re playing a national schedule it’s very hard to accomplish those two things.
(3) Who Got The Better Of The Zaon Collins Nolan Hickman Matchup?
Hickman finished with 14 and got the win. Collins had 11 and 7. Edge goes to Hickman because of the W. I know I harp a lot on “matchups” but to be honest Eastside Catholic played zone most of the night and Gorman was in a 2-2-1 press and scrambled once the ball passed half court so we it wasn’t a matchup in traditional form. I will say, it was fun to watch as both players were called on to make big plays for their teams. Hickman played with a terrific pace and did a great job of getting paint touches and finishing. Collins was more of a pure PG and set up several of his teammates for open shots.
(4) What Level Prospect Is Braden Lamar?
I’ll go with D2 or low major. In my opinion, Lamar is the type of player that if he chooses the correct school, could end up being an all-conference type performer. He has great size for his position, and his ability to knock down 3’s, as well as score down low, make him a versatile offensive threat.
(5) How Many Losses Will Gorman End Up With?
I’ll go with 3. With or without the return of Stanford commit Taitz, I think this team has enough talent to capture their 9th consecutive state title. I think their slip up comes at hoop hall were they will have to face Roselle Catholic and Oak Hill. I can see them getting past one of them, but defeating both of those powerhouses is going to be a tall task. All in all I still think that considering the turmoil and transition this team has dealt with over the past 6 months finishing the season with less than 4 loses would be a terrific accomplishment.
