10: Centaurus
Centaurus started off the season winning one and loosing one. They lost to the former 4A champions Lewis-Palmer. The reason they deserve a top 10 ranking is because they have one of the best seniors in the state Owen Koonce. Last year Koonce averaged 18.5 points per game, watch out for him to pick up the scoring from here and keep Centaurus in the running for one of the top 4A teams.
9: Sand Creek
Sand Creek is coming off of a very good two game win streak beating Pueblo West and 5A team Pine Creek. This young group is lead by sharp shooter Markus Rameriz who last year averaged 13.3 as a sophomore. Watch out for him to and this Sand Creek team to jump onto a lot of peoples radars this year.
8: Erie
Erie is coming off some great wins in this first week beating Longmont and Silver Creek. This is a team that plays very good defense and causes a lot of fast breaks. They also have very good shooters and leading those shooters is Ladorian Harvard. So far this season he is averaging 18 points per game. This is definitely a team to keep an eye on this year.
7: Thomas Jefferson
Thomas Jefferson is coming off winning the consolation side of the Denver Tip-Off. They are being lead by Darius Hornbuckle who so far this season is averaging 20.5 points, he is a knockdown shooter who might be one of the highest scorers in the state. They also have a good point guard in James Abbey who can attack inside and find open teammates. Watch out for this team to make some noise in 4A.
6: Lincoln
Lincoln started off the season going 3-1, only loosing to Ponderosa. The reason you have to always consider Lincoln is because they have two future D1 players on their team. One being Washington State signee TJ Bamba who is one of the best players in the state. He is a 6’5 shooting guard who can hit outside shots and drive with ease. Then Ty Foster who has one of the best driving games in the state, he has picked up offers from Towson, Columbia, and Kent State. This team still seems to need to find its structure around their two stars, but if they can get some more chemistry watch out.
