When they’re dialed in, Word of God is unstoppable
The score was 23-23 with about 4 minutes left in the first half before Word of God really opened things up following a timeout. After that, the Holy Rams went on a 22-2 run to end the first half, leading 45-25 at the break. They didn’t stop there as they continued their run well into the second half and before it was all said and done, they had outscored Bull City Prep 68-25 from that point on.
Isaiah Todd and Po’Boigh King made scoring look easy
The leading scorers for Word of God on Saturday night were Michigan commit Isaiah Todd and 2022 wing Po’Boigh King. King led the way with 25 points and four made 3-pointers while Todd finished with 23 points, controlling the paint and finishing with a number of big dunks. Things looked interesting for them in the beginning, but when these two are scoring at-will, Word of God is hard to stop.
Bull City Prep is on their way, but there’s still work to do
As mentioned above, Bull City Prep was in the game in the early going, but Word of God hit a level they’ve yet to get to on both ends of the floor. They’ve got a talented group but utilizing all of it is the bigger issue to solve. 2020 forward Pablo Paquier led the way for them on offense with 11 points but there’s a ton of potential in their wheelhouse with 2021 forward Treyvon Byrd and 2023 point guard Keshawn Brown. Byrd finished the game with just five points while Brown made three 3-pointers for nine points.
