***Be aware that the phrase “unsung hero” is not implying that these players are not good or elite, just that they aren’t the “star” of their team.
Ricardo Sarmiento 5’10 2021 G Cesar Chavez
Most media outlets will probably follow and highlight Cesar Chavez guard, Ty Ty Washington, as they should. However, Ricardo Sarmiento is more than worthy of some love and attention throughout the season. The kid has ridiculous court vision and passing ability. Sarmiento can also knock down the mid-range and 3 ball with ease. Love his overall leadership and presence on the court, he is like having another coach on the court.
Dominic Capriotti 6’2 2022 G Skyline
I think most will key in on the insane play making and talent of Dayton Harris but Dominic will be a huge part of their success this season. Dominic is already a knockdown shooter at his young age. He will provide a big target for point guard, Dayton Harris, to hit on the perimeter.
Marcus Wady 5’8 2021 G Desert Vista
Desert Vista has a ton of talent and two big time prospects in Osasere Ighodaro and John Soloman. Osasere is committed to Marquette and that’ll definitely bring most attention to him. Wady is going to be a huge part of their success this season. I love his overall fire and passion that he plays with. I think him and fellow guard, Andrew King, are going to be huge for DV.
Mehki Mason 6’0 2022 G Chandler
Mason is one of the top players in the 2022 class but for now I’d probably call Isaiah Broady their “star”. Broady should have a lot of eyes on him this season due to his potential and college readiness. Mason will definitely turn some heads too. The kid has massive size for his age, is a great perimeter defender, and an amazing play maker. Mason is definitely one to watch out for this season.
