Listed below is part one of a two part breakdown of the top unsigned players in the class of 2020 who have Division I and II schools looking at them as they enter their final high school season.
Graham Ike – Overland
The 6’9 big man averaged a double-double last season with 17.6 PPG and 12.0 RPG for the Trailblazers who look to make a deep run into the playoffs this year behind Ike. Last year his season high for points and rebounds came in the same game against Mullen were he had 29 and 18. Graham has put in a tremendous amount of work since his sophomore year where he only played in eleven varsity games, and that hard work is starting to be noticed nation wide. In the twenty-five games that Ike played in last year, he was able to record a double-double in seventeen of them. Some of the Division I schools who have offered the big fella are: Washington State University, Bucknell University, Loyola Marymount University, University of Akron, University of Massachusetts, Saint Louis University, University of Northern Colorado, and the Air Force. Ike is a skilled big man that moves well for his size and does a great job of getting out and running the floor for transition buckets. He has a great low-post game with a number of different moves and is physical down on the block. He has shown he can extend the floor and knock down mid and long range shots as well. Overland will look to lean on the skilled big man his senior season.
Quinten Rock – Smoky Hill
Quinten is a four-year varsity player for Smoky Hill who has only improved his game every year and with Kenny Foster departing last year to Wyoming, Rock will look to lead this talented Smoky Hill team his senior season. Looking at his career, during his freshmen year he averaged 7.8 PPG and 2.4 APG, as a sophomore, 12.7 PPG and 3.5 APG, and during his junior season, 13.9 PPG, 3.6 RPG, 7.3 APG. Rock is a true point guard with great vision and will have plenty of talent around him to distribute the ball to. His 7.3 assists per game last year ranked second in the state behind Landon Wallace at 10.3. Rock and Foster did a great job leading the Buffalos over the past couple years and I’m excited to see how Rock will do taking over the lead role. UC Davis, Air Force, University of Denver, are some of the Division I schools that are interested in Quinten and I am sure that list will increase this fall/winter after a great AAU summer run he had.
Kobe Sanders – Chaparral
Sanders is another talented guard similar to Rock who has been a four-year varsity player for Chaparral. Freshmen year he averaged: 7.8 PPG, 3.4 APG, during his sophomore season he had a stat line of: 11.7 PPG, 3.7 APG and during his junior season last year he upped his scoring to 16.3 PPG to go a long with 3.1 APG. Kobe is a natural leader and it shows on the court with how he interacts with his teammates and steps up during big moments. After losing in the state championship game last season to Rangeview, I have no doubt Sanders is approaching this season to get back to that stage again. Metro State, Concordia Irvine, University Colorado Colorado Springs, have currently offered Sanders.
Ty Foster – Lincoln
Ty averaged: 13.2 PPG, 3.2 RPG, 4.7 APG, 2.1 SPG last season as a junior for Lincoln and is due for a big senior season leading the talented group. Like Sanders and Rock, Foster is also a four-year varsity player for Lincoln who has increased his stat line every year. Foster is a high IQ point-guard that does just about everything on the court, he’s a down-hill attacking guard that makes the right play. Ty was at the West Coast Elite camp and stood out just as he should have, being one of the more dominate guards during the two-day event. He was finishing above the rim, knocking down shots, and applying constant pressure on the ball. Many would make the case he is one of the best on-ball defenders currently. Kent State, Stony Brook, Columbia, have currently offered Foster with more to come surely.
Part two will take a look at a few more standout seniors who have yet to sign and have potential to play at the next level without a doubt.
