Wing players all offer different things and a lot of the same. Some stretch the floor, others rather finish inside. Would be shooting guards and small forwards at the next level all know how to score and will do so often.
These wings are amongst the top players left in the state and are set for big senior seasons before they’re off to college.
Wings:
Devontae Blanton (2020) | 6-6 W | St. Edward
St. Ed’s will be loaded this season and Blanton is a huge part of that. Modern day wing that can do a little bit of everything. Virtually not guard-able from the perimeter with a high release, Blanton gets a lot of open looks. Size to battle inside for rebounds and the strength is there as well. The senior has options as his recruitment comes down the final stretch.
Holds offers from Dayton, Cleveland State, Duquesne and Toledo
Marcus Johnson (2020) | 6-4 WG | Columbus South
Marcus Johnson has improved on both ends over the last year. One thing he has improved was his jump shot. Before, just a force within 18 feet, Johnson showed he can knock down the outside jumper on the EYBL. The 6-4 wing has what it takes to be a lockdown defender and brings big athleticism to the court. A smart player that is a legit division l caliber prospect.
Holds offers from Akron and UMES
Gbolahan Adio (2020) | 6-4 WG | Richmond Heights
I had my first few viewings of Adio this summer and he did not disappoint. Explosive to the hoop, the senior can finish everything with toughness. A shot maker when left often, best off the catch and shoot. Adio impacts the defensive end with intensity by harassing the ball handler. Long frame plays the passing lanes as well.
Holds an offer from WVU Tech
Jadakis Mack (2020) | 6-3 WG | Lima Senior
Mack is in store for a big last go around with the Spartans. The senior has an all around game and is money off the pull-up. Jadakis has a quick burst that allows him to get to the hoop where he can finish with a big time dunk or simple lay in. Mack has a long frame that helps his on-ball defense. A player that can be the vocal point of an offense or secondary contributor, team play for sure. Would be a gem at the Division ll level, NAIA’s should take a look too.
Brandon Gibson (2020) | 6-4 W | Chaminade Julienne
Gibson has grown some it appears and that means he’s growing into his frame. Learning to use his length on both ends is going to do numbers for him. Still a raw talent in areas, shooting isn’t one. A plus shooter from deep that has dead eye range. The senior can work off the bounce, plays well off the ball best. NAIA or Division ll schools needing a scorer should take a look. Division lll would be a steal.
