Bigs are projected power forwards or centers at the next level, may play smaller or bigger at the high school level due to team needs. All of these players are due for an impact at the next level.
Forwards/Centers:
Mo Njie (2020) | 6-9 C | Centerville
Njie is Ohio’s top un-committed player at this point. With a few offers and interest, he will have plenty of open options. Njie holds his own with any matchup and often wins those. Energetic on the defensive end where he doesn’t get out battled on the boards or for a bucket. Njie fits perfectly on a team with shooters as he has nice vision from inside and a kick out artist. He will showcase that this year for Centerville with freshman like Gabe Cupps expected to give an instant impact.
Offers from Dayton, Toledo, Xavier and Providence.
Alex Mangold (2020) | 6-8 PF | Lakota East
Potentially the most sought after recruit at the Division ll level in Ohio is Alex Mangold. A ton of really good offers at that level and could see a Divison l school make that move if he held out till spring. Mangold brings a nice face up game that gives many forwards trouble. Can shoot it, or work off the dribble and finish strong at the basket. Move great for his size, does everything you want in a four.
Offers from Fairmont State, Delta State, Christian Brothers, Hillsdale, Findlay, Lincoln Memorial, Urbana, West Georgia, Palm Beach Atlantic and Nova Southeastern
Deshaun Nettles (2020) | 6-7 PF | Cleveland Central Catholic
Deshaun Nettles is one of the better bigs in the Northern Ohio area. The senior is lengthy and will play the four in college, but has a face up game that accommodates his skill set very nicely. Nettles can handle the ball a little bit, but play inside as well. A threat to pin shots to the backboard at any moment, Nettles is a two way player. His recruitment could carry out as schools are getting involved, we’ll see.
Offer from Kilgore
Jamir Simpson (2020) | 6-5 PF | Lima Senior
I really like the game Jamir brings to the table. A big forward that uses his size to his advantage and simply can’t be stopped at times. Gets to the rim at will, rebounds and puts it back up with no opportunity. High energy player for the Spartans that can stretch it out if needed. On many teams Simpson would be the primary point of the offense, but thrives in a secondary role at Lima. Does the little things and is a winner!
Offer from Pikeville
Isaiah Ingle (2020) | 6-8 C | Northland
A player that is going to make a college coach happy one day because his best basketball is ahead of him. Ingle has a lot of raw talent, but is already a stable on the defensive end. Lengthy frame that swats shots and makes it tough for any would be scorer. On the offensive end Ingle is a lob threat and runs the floor pretty well. Post moves are coming around and will be better down the road.
