Our #1 prospect in the class of 2021 from the state of Alabama 6’3 PG JD Davison kicked off his junior season with a bang as his Calhoun Tigers defeated the Jeff Davis Volunteers which features 2021 6’4 WF Le’Tarion White.
In the 85-81 thriller to kick off the season in central Alabama Davison poured in a career high 44 points for the Tigers while White had a breakout game with 25 points and 11 rebounds.
Davison is an elite athlete and high major prospects with offers from the likes of Memphis, Alabama, Auburn, and UAB just to name a few. Throughout the night he displayed a skill set many didn’t think he had which was the ability to score the ball at a consistently high clip. He shot the ball very well from outside displaying the work he put in over the summer to improve his outside shooting. In addition to his 44 points he added 3 highlight dunks to end the game which sent the crowd into a frenzy. Stay tuned throughout the season as we expect to see many more games like this from the 4-star prospect.
For Jeff Davis they played without top 2020 prospect and Sidney Lanier transfer Rongie Gordon Jr. who was out with an injury. That opened the door for White to showcase his talent and he did so in a huge way. The long and rangy athlete is a terror in the open court and displayed his ability to play inside and outside very efficiently. His ability to rebound the basketball and push it n transition makes him a mismatch for most in state. He also displayed his ability to play above the rim and shoot it from the outside. He has a good handle for a wing forward with the ability to get to his comfort spots on the floor. He drastically improved over the summer running with Dreams Basketball. Stay tuned as we believe this will be the norm for this prospect as the season progresses.
