Catching multiple 10 minute periods, we seen quite a few players impress. Let’s get straight to it!
Chris Strzempka (2021) | 6-5 WF | Findlay
In my first viewing of the versatile wing, Strzempka definitely showed some flashes. Protected the rim, including a block off the backboard. The junior showed his athleticism going up for rebounds. Good length on the defensive end making things tough. Used a post score as well as finishing through contact in the half court.
Logan Beaston (2023) | 6-3 WG | Tiffin Columbian
Beaston was a freshman we had heard about and got our first viewing of him in this scrimmage. The freshman gave some good minutes when he was in the game. Came off screens looking for the ball, knockdown shooter from the corner where he made multiple shots. It’s not hard to see that Beaston is already a plus shooter, one we will continue to watch develop.
Luke Montgomery (2023) | 6-5 PF | Findlay
Montgomery didn’t have the best start to this scrimmage, but settled in. Had impressive vision from the low block, using cross court passes and opposite block feeds which led to buckets. Physical rebounder on the defensive end. Scored it off the screen and roll through contact. Got up and down the court well, can definitely tell he’s a Division l football prospect already to say the least.
Isaiah Moore (2020) | 5-7 PG | Findlay
Moore was a floor general tonight that was scrappy on the defensive end. High intensity on-ball defender that likes to turn it up. Ran the fast break to perfection, either kicking it out to the corner or finishing for an open layup. Showed a tough mid-range pull up, rising above the bigger defender despite his size, as he gets up. Crafty dribbles and finishes at the rim.
AJ Adams (2021) | 6-4 W | Findlay
Adams was the best player on the court tonight. Affective on the defensive end with his long frame, breaking up passes inside and jumping passing lanes. Drove to the basket off the bounce and either finished or kicked it out to an open teammate, displaying good vision in the half court. Finished through contact for and-1’s, with the off hand and attacked tough in transition. All around bucket tonight, easy to see why he’s one of the top juniors in the state.
Cyrus Burden (2022) | 5-11 G | Tiffin Columbian
Burden gave some good minutes when he was in the game, specifically on the offensive end. Scored it in the mid range while coming off of screens. Moved the ball well when he wasn’t scoring it. On the defensive end Burden showed quick hands
Brock Makrancy (2022) | 6-5 W | Findlay
Makrancy was the second best player from tonight’s scrimmage. Had 14 points through the first two 10 minute periods, stretched the floor for three that he had falling all night long as he was often open. Worked well off the bounce, finishing strong at the cup. The sophomore is a player to watch this winter.
Bryce Burns (2022) | 6-2 G | Tiffin Columbian
Burns was a nice offensive element for Tiffin. Finished off the bounce, with quickness at times. Knocked down jumpers off the catch. Assisted the basketball on back screens as well. Solid on ball defending against Findlay.
