The season is underway so I wanted to share some prospects for college coaches and fans to watch this season. Here are some of the prospects below:
Elijah Elliott | PG | Houston Yates
A shifty point guard who uses tight crossovers to elude defenders and shoot long or midrange pull up jumpers. He can run a team and set the table for others with his passing ability.
College Level: D1 Low Major/D2
Yomi Obefemi | PF | Mansfield Summit
Every team needs a big that does the little things on the court and that’s what Mansfield Summit has in senior power forward Yomi Obefemi. Obefemi plays with a lot of energy and he takes pride in rebounding and battling hard against the other teams bigs.
Levels: D3NAIA
Jalen Williams | Dallas Carter | 2020
Williams is a bouncy shooter who can hit jumpers from all area codes and he’s also skilled enough to bring the ball up and initiate the offense. He’s really got a knack for putting the basketball in the basket.
Levels:D2
Shannon Robinson | SF | Arlington Lamar
Robinson is an elite athlete who has long arms and a slender frame. He is exciting to watch in transition because he loves exploding off the floor to throw down vicious dunks. Robinson has a solid skill-set to go along with his athleticism and he is comfortable putting the ball on the deck and getting to the basket but, he still needs to work on improving his jumper so that he can become more than just an attacking wing.
College Level:D2/JUCO
Shamir Bogues | SG | Killeen Ellison
Bogues can play the one or the two on the offensive end and on defense he’s able to guard multiple positions due to his lateral quickness and toughness. He can really score the rock and he loves to attack the basket off the bounce to get to his spot for scoring opportunities.
College Level: D1 Low Major
Deauntre Davis | PF | Chilton
Davis has the frame and the athletic ability to be an instant impact when he steps foot on a college campus next year. He still needs to improve his back to the basket game, but he plays with a motor and tries to contest and rebound everything around the basket. Davis also has soft hands and a solid finisher around the cup.
College Level: D2/JUCO
Jhi Jackson | PG/SG | Mckinney North
Jackson is a rhythm scorer who uses his handles to get defenders off balance to give him room to get his shot off. His recruitment is currently quiet as of right now but I envision that it should pick up in the next few months.
College Level: D2/D3/NAIA
Robert Banks | PF | Duncanville
College Coaches if you want a stretch four man who can knock down open shots, drive on slower bigs and grab boards than you need to go to Duncanville to check out senior forward Robert Banks
College Level: D3/NAIA
Reggie Comeaux | SF | Houston Nimitz
The Houston Native Comeaux has crazy ups and a college ready physique. It’s hard to guess what level he will end up at, but whoever gets him will be getting a kid with a lot of upside and a high ceiling.
College Level: D2/Juco
