Peavy Is Making A Strong Case for Himself
If you were to ask me this time last year if I thought Micah Peavy is good enough to make the McDonald’s game I probably would’ve said no with no hesitation. Ask me that same question now and the answer is absolutely! At the Elite 14 the smooth wing played at a different level than everyone else he was on the floor with and he was virtually unstoppable when attacking the rim. He had multiple breathtaking plays that made spectators react in disbelief. Peavy also showed the ability to create for himself and for his teammates at a high level with the ball in his hands.
Miles body looks Magnificent
Darius Miles’ High School basketball career has been a huge roller coaster ride for the 6ft.10 big man from Dallas, Texas. He’s had to overcome injuries and get himself into better basketball shape since his Freshman year. This past weekend I was able to witness all of the hard work finally pay off for Darius. Against St. Marks at the Elite 14 Showcase the big man was active on both sides of the floor and he used his body to finish through smaller defenders.
Imo Essien’s game is EvolvingThe class of 2021 has a lot of talented point guards in the state Texas, but, none has shown as quick of an improvement in their game the way Imo Essien has. Now, don’t get me wrong, before this weekend Imo was already considered a Top 5 point guard in Texas, but I was really impressed with how Essien shot the ball off the bounce which is something that the shifty guard couldn’t do in the summer time on a consistent basis. If Essien can keep this up expect for his recruitment to rise in the near future.
The Class of 2022 is Loaded!
There has been a lot of special classes in the State of Texas, but the Class of 2022 could be the deepest class in Texas high school basketball history. At the Elite 14 Showcase sophomores, Keyonte George, Rylan Griffen, Colin Smith, Trae Clayton, Noah Shelby, Arterio Morris, Cason Wallace, Kiante Williams, Brendan Hausen, Dallas Hobbs, Austin Nunez, Tre White, Cade Hornecker, Jordan Walsh, were among the top 2022 players in attendance who stood out in front of multiple national and local scouts this past weekend.
