Village Christian Senior Guard Zavian Mclean: Led all scorers with 20 points but he showed all the parts of his game throughout the night. Defensive intensity, passing , facilitating and playing with a high motor were all things we saw from Zay. With Columbia University Head Coach in the building he showed that he will be a player that the Lions can count on for next season.
Village Christian Senior Wing Justin Thomas: He’s still nursing an ankle injury but we saw some flashes of how good he can be. The first and fourth quarters were where he was most productive as he scored 8 out of his 12 points in those periods.
Village Christian Senior Forward Josh Reid: College coaches should be keeping a close eye on Reid this season as he seems to get better every game. His ability to play multiple positions on both ends of the floor is one reason why we feel he can transition well to the college level. He finished with 13 Points on the night and did a nice job of rebounding the ball as well.
Village Christian Sophomore Guard Zy Mclean: Stepped up for his team in the third quarter when the teams offense slowed down a bit. He knocked down back to back treys to help give VCA some buckets to help hold their lead.
Trinity Christian Sophomore Guard Cam Oates: With the departure of quite a few Senior Guards, he has stepped in and taken over the PG duties. He has the ability to score at a high level but also does a nice job of finding teammates by using his facilitating ability, he finished with 15 Points on the night.
Trinity Christian Senior Forward Todd Burtt: He didn’t have a big time showing in the first half but stepped it up at a high level in the second half . Scoring from the high post and finishing plays in the paint, Burtt scored 12 points in the half to help lead his team to a comeback.
Trinity Christian Sophomore Guard Jamori McDougald: Stepped up and knocked down some three point shots but his impact was really felt on the defensive end. He did a nice job of using his lateral quickness and defending without fouling to make things difficult for opponents.
