James Shiers- C 6’10, Mead
James is the first player in the class of 2022 to get a D1 offer from the University of Denver. He is the biggest player in the class and uses that size to get his way down low. Using a solid set of footwork, he can get easy layups and offensive put backs against smaller defenders. James has just started showing a little bit of his potential with his footwork, size, good looking jumper, and athleticism it is only a matter of time before he puts all together and becomes a dominant force.
Micah Leslie- F 6’5, Mullen
Micah had a great off season getting to play up on the Billups Elite 16U Adidas Gauntlet team. He is someone who is not going to fill up the scoring column, but does everything you want to see from a hustle guy. He boxes out super well to get a lot of rebounds. Also on defense he caused trouble for older players with quick footwork and his lengthy body. Micah in a way plays a Paul Millsap role, he hustles on defense and the boards, and has a good set of moves to score when needed.
Lamarius Royston- F 6’6, Smoky Hill
Lamarius impacts the game with his strength and athleticism. This kid has a lot of muscle mass and he uses it to bang down low. He also plays with a competitive attitude you like to see, he talks a lot on the court communicating with his team and sometimes chirping the other. He also has a developing jump shot that has improved over the summer.
Kuchdahl Kojiza- F/C 6’8, Denver South
Kuchdahl is a new guy to Colorado who I have got to see a few times, and it looks like he will help out Denver South a lot. The first time I saw him was at the Prep Hoops 250 event where he had a very good showing. He is very psychical inside and has the height to give opposing teams problems. He also has a decent mid range jumper that he can use to mix up his scoring. The most impressive part of his game is his defense, he is really good at getting position to get blocks. I am going to be watching to see how his game develops.
