Starters
2021 Bobby Pettiford Jr. – Point Guard
Pettiford is one of the top guards in the 2021 class for a reason. The team goes as he does with his ability to score whenever he wants as well as his ability to make plays for others. With tons of experience around him, he’ll be looked upon to lead a talented group deep into the state playoffs.
2020 Kobe Jones – Guard/Wing
Jones is a high-flying prospect with versatility on the wing. He can create off the bounce and is quite the dunker on the break and in the halfcourt. He’ll be a new addition to watch in the rotation.
2020 Micah Jones – Guard/Wing
Jones is a sharpshooter from deep that’s slowly finding his way in the rotation. As he finds his rhythm within the offense, he’s an underrated senior prospect to keep an eye on on the perimeter.
2020 Wy’kise Allen – Wing/Forward
Allen has really developed in the past few months on the rebounding and defensive front. He’s hustling in the passing lanes for steals and looking to get out and run on the break off rebounds. He’ll be another senior to watch in the starting rotation.
2021 Adrian Cearnel – Forward
Cearnel is quite the rebounder and rim-protector on defense for this squad. He’s finding his way in the post but he’s a sure starting contributor for his defensive presence.
Reserves
2021 Daniel Morton – Guard
When things slow down on either end, look for Morton to play the role of the “spark” off the bench in that regard. He’s a guard that can pick up full court on defense and create on all three levels on offense. He’ll contribute a lot as the sixth man.
2022 Collin Tanner – Wing/Forward
Tanner will probably be the youngest face in this year’s rotation but he’ll show that he belongs with his ability to defend and get to the rim on offense. He’s also not shy about shooting from the perimeter.
2021 Jacob McMillan – Forward
McMillan will be a wildcard in this year’s rotation with his ability to protect the paint and finish around the rim. If he can contribute and stay out of foul trouble, he’ll be a key contributor in 2019-20.
Key Dates
11/22 – @Wakefield
South Granville will start their season on the road in their second game, coming against a scrappy Wakefield Wolverines squad. They’ll be tested early on against what should be a well-coached bunch.
5 Road Games in a Row
Coach Wohlfeil didn’t waste any time getting his team’s road games out the way, putting them on the road from Nov. 22 until Dec. 12 with five road games coming against various nonconference foes. They’ll certainly be a different team after playing in a few hostile environments.
1/11 – Leesville Road (City of Oaks Showcase)
The Vikings will face off against 2021 guard Carter Whitt and the Leesville Road Pride in the Phenom Hoops Showcase. It’ll be a nice battle in the backcourt to complement each team’s talented rotations.
